Feedsacks were very popular in the 1930's and 40's. Sacks of grain, flour, sugar and animal feed were purchased for use and when they were empty women would use the sacks for household items. You can find these wonderful sacks on line or at local antique malls and flea markets. I use them for quilt repair and restoration. They also make wonderful quilts.
I sell my sacks in charm packs, fat quarters and whole sacks. A sack is about one yard when it is opened. There will be stitching holes on three sides from when they held grain. They can be soaked in oxi-clean or Biz to remove and stains. I soak all my sacks before I sell them so they are ready for use when you buy them. Pricing on my feedsacks reflects their condition, color and print.
Full Feedsacks start at $20.00 Half Sacks start at $10.00 Quarter Sacks start at $5.00 Charm Packs are $45.00 These charm packs will have (50) 6" squares, two of each print. This is a great way to build you stash of Feedsack fabric.
I can cut feedsacks in half or quarter them for your order. If you are looking for a specific feedsack let me know I may have it in my inventory. They are great for making repairs or to use in your next quilt project. I use them with solid color reproduction fabric to create one of a kind quilts.
I also sell vintage cotton ric rac in a variety of colors. It costs $1.00 for 2 yards and is size 33 which is a little smaller than a half inch. Please e-mail me for current colors as I am adding new colors all the time. |
